A weekend course in the ancient art of Blacksmithing
Forge welding during a smithing class
During the weekend we will cover:
- Forging mild steel in a coke forge and gas forge
- Drawing out, bending and forming, splitting, upsetting (thickening out cross section of steel) and punching

Some basic forge welding (use of flux or not)
You will have the chance to make some decorative forged items such as fire pokers or decorative leaves & hooks to practice the techniques of smithing.
The course will be held Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 9am to 4.30pm
Attending this course will enable you to make use of my open forge days. This is the opportunity to make use of my facilities for your own projects at a cost of £40 per day
