Feather Kitchen Knife 623

This is a broad 9” feather pattern kitchen knife. The central feather pattern is made by forcing a blunt cutting tool through a patterned bar to create distortion in the layers. I wanted this pattern to actually look like a feather and I believe that this pattern is currently unique to me…..

The edge and spine are forged from a 300 layer random pattern Damascus this has beef fish mouth forged around the feather. During the forging the blade is drawn out into a gradual taper, making a blade that is thin near the tip and retains some of its thickness where it meets the handle, this leads to a much better balanced blade. This is a thin light and well balanced knife with POB just in front of the handle..
The handle is made from a lovely piece of burl with a horn and bone spacer.

The knife has a point of balance 1 inches into the blade and feels light and elegant .

I am particularly proud of this knife pattern!

Materials : 15 N 20 Carbon Steel and cs80 Carbon Steel en42 carbon steel, walnut, bone horne.

Blade length 9 inches long over all the knife is just over 14 inches long, the blade is just over 2 1/4 inches wide and 2.6 mm thick at the handle.
The knife weighs 164 grams.

Price £580 (plus postage)

I offer a guarantee against faulty manufacture for the lifetime of the knives. This does not cover abusive use of the knives or wear and tear. The handle materials on these knives are natural and as such, must be looked after. These knives will not respond well to being left soaking in a sink or (and it pains me to even think of it) put in a dishwasher. I would consider both of these actions as knife abuse. Use them, clean them, dry them and they will remain beautiful for years to come.
